Overview

There's Someone Inside Your House by Stephanie Perkins

It's been almost a year since Makani Young came to live with her grandmother in landlocked Nebraska, and she's still adjusting to her new life. And still haunted by her past in Hawaii.

Then, one by one, the students of her small town high school begin to die in a series of gruesome murders, each with increasing and grotesque flair. As the terror grows closer and the hunt intensifies for the killer, Makani will be forced to confront her own dark secrets.

Discuss the setting and the role it played. Describe when and where the story takes place.
Who are the main characters? What problems or conflicts does each character face in the book? Briefly describe each character.
What are the good points of this book? What did the author do well? Tell why you liked the book.
What, if any, were the bad points in the book? What did you feel the author did poorly? Tell why you didn't like the book.
This is where you give a brief summary of the book. Tell about at least two events that took place in the story. Don't give away the ending but give a 20 second synopsis that describes the story.
Without giving away the ending tell whether or not the ending was satisfying. Did the end fit the story?

Setting
Osborn, Nebraska
Characters
The main characters are Makani and Ollie. Makani is facing issues with her family and fitting in at a new place. Ollie is also an outsider - pink hair and a lip ring.
Good Points
There is some suspense with the action trying to stop a murderer.
Bad Points
The single biggest problem for me was the use of the "F" word. It is pervasive and does not add to the story in my opinion. The descriptive violence could also be a problem for readers.
Plot Summary
Who is killing students? Why are they being singled out? Will someone be able to stop the murders?
Ending
It was satisfying but it wrapped up pretty nicely.
