Setting
The setting is on a cruise boat. Which laurel is very seasick because of that. The boat only stops at a couple of places and the trip is all planned exactly. There is a ton of rich people on the boat and even more crew members. It is very nice until it goes wrong.
Characters
The main characters are Laurel and Tom. Laybourne does a very good job of describing these characters. She makes it so you could almost see the characters. At first Laurel really liked tom but was way to shy and embarrassed. Tom and Laurel always bumped into each other even when they tried to stay away. Every time they did Laybourne described the way the other character saw them and how they felt.
Good Points
What I liked about this book was how laybourne went back and forth between the two characters perspectives. This way i didn't just see one side of feelings or anything i got to know what was going on in both of their heads. I also again liked her way of describing the characters. She was specific and very detailed.
Bad Points
What i didn't like about this book was the ending. It's a cliff hanger and that is good for series but i don't think this will have a second book. Laybourne however does have another series and so it is possible. I am just a little impatient and it sucks to wait.
Plot Summary
In the book Sweet by Emmy Laybourne, The main Two characters are Laurel And Tom. Laurel is on a cruise with her best friend Viv. Viv’s father is paying for them to go on the cruise. The cruise is for the releasing of a new product called “Solo” this product’s purpose is to make the consumer lose weight. Tom is also on this crusie the difference between these characters is Tom is a big star from birth. On the cruise something goes terribly wrong, the passengers start to turn on eachother. Tom and Laurel however become closer.

Setting
The setting takes place on an elegant cruise ship that's expensive. The cruise ship cruise lasts 6 days and makes some stops but not long stops. The people on the ship are the only ones concerned about the effects of the sweetener. The cruise ship gives the reader a sense of understanding that the people on board are the only ones affected.
Characters
The main character is Laurel. Vivika, Laurels rich friend invites Laurel to go on a trip of her lifetime literally. Since day one Laurel faced issues the first major issue was where Laurel got seasick she later overcomes the sickness, but the sea sickness was just the start for more problems were developing and happening at the same time. Laurel meets tom The other main character that helps Laurel face a few problems. Tom is only on the trip to give updates on the solu sweetener. Laurel and Tom rely on one another more.
Good Points
I love how the author made the story interesting she didn't make it simple she made it interesting enough to like the characters. I like how Emmy Laybourne also made the sweetener a trigger for people to become something dark. I like how Emmy shows how something can become addicting just like in real life sweetener is addicting. I also loved the tone it didn't start off in a dark tone so it was kind of unexpected for the book to turn dark. I loved the characters because they were well developed and my favorite character was Laurel because she loves herself and Tom changes he is kind of cowardly but then grows as a character. The book was creepy enough to keep me hooked in.
Bad Points
One big strong bad point that straight of hit me right in the face was why is there a romance there should not be one they might die and why after 6 days. Some of the situations may have been a little too creepy but it's still a good hook that makes you not want to stop reading. Emmy Laybourne could have described a few things better. There is not a lot of bad points to be stated I enjoyed the book from beginning to end.
Plot Summary
The beginning starts off on a cruise ship with two best friend's VIvika and Laurel they both go to try the new solu sweetener that just launched for weight loss. Laurel doesn't want to try the sweetener shes happy with her shape and is recovering from being seasick. When people try this sweetener and run out people get ugly and want more. Laurel is lucky for not taking the sweetener and the cruise of a lifetime definitely becomes the cruise of a lifetime because Laurel won't be able to forget anything.
Ending
The ending was satisfying and so not what I wanted or expected it to be it turned to be the opposite. Laurel in the last few pages changes and not in a good way shes a different person literally. The story could have ended another way so why that way im interested why Emmy Laybourne changed the message. The ending is what made me think about what people do to be liked. I would recommend this book and say be ready for the ending.

Setting
The story takes place on a cruise trip over a six day period. It makes a few stops on islands, but the majority of the story takes place on board. The cruise ship gives the story a certain setting where the events only effect the people on board. Playing a role where the people not on the cruise weren't a concern, yet.
Characters
Laurel is one of the main characters. She got the chance to come on this trip because of her best friend Vivika. Whose dad is wealthy and wants her daughter to be happy. However Laurel faces conflicts on day one when she's sea sick and can't find the medical center. Later in the story, she overcomes this sickness, but had other problems to face. Tom, who is the other main character, helps Laurel with some of her troubles. Tom's on this trip to give the exclusive about the product Solu and give a broadcast throughout the trip. These two main characters depend on each other more and more as the story goes on.
Good Points
The author did well with transitioning between Tom and Laurel. Picking right up where she left off on the other character, not missing any details. It helped the story flow well with the change in attitude and perspective when it'd switch between a shy common girl and an outgoing celebrity.
Bad Points
I enjoyed the book, there may have been some parts where the situation was unclear to me. Overall I felt that the author did a good job in getting the story across to the readers.
Plot Summary
The cruise trip is based around this sweetener called Solu, guaranteeing the people a weight lost when they use it. The first time it's being served Laurel doesn't take her serving because she's recovering from sea sickness. Instead Laurel offers her portion to Vivika, not knowing this could put her friend in danger. On the sixth day of the cruise trip Laurel is one of the lucky ones while Vivika has turned into something her best friend cannot even recognize. This trip of a lifetime has been a journey these people will never forget.
Ending
I personally felt the ending of the story was not how I expected it to be. The last few pages are nail-biters. There's so many ways the story can end and it's keeps the reader intrigued till the last few words on the last page. The ending keeps the story alive with what could happen next.

Setting
This book takes place on an elegant cruise ship over a six day period. It makes a few stops on some islands but the majority of the book takes place on board of the cruise. The setting is kind of unique where the incidents that occur only happen to those that are on board. Where people are not on board seem like they are not a big concern or at least not yet.
Characters
Laurel is one of the main characters. She goes on this trip with her best friend Vivikia whose father is very wealthy and whats nothing but happiness for his daughter so he allows her to bring her friend which is Laurel. Although Laurel starts facing problems from day one where she becomes seasick, later on she overcomes that but still faces many problems. The other main character is Tom. Tom starts to help Laurel with her seasickness but the main reason he is on this cruise is to give a broadcast throughout the whole trip. As you read the book more and more these characters rely on each other more and more.
Good Points
One of the good points I thought the Laybourne had was the way he transitioned from Laurel to Tom. It was very clear who was talking everytime the characters switched off and also when the author would bring it back to a certain character Laybourne would pick up right where the character had left off last time he or she said something. This point helped the story flow and made it easy to pick up especially when Laurel would switch from being shy to a more outgoing celebrity.
Bad Points
If I would have to say there was a bad point I would only say that sometimes throughout the book it seemed to get a little unclear what was going on but other than that Laybourne did a great job with this book.
Plot Summary
The book Sweet by Emmy Laybourne is about a cruise trip based around a sweetener called Solu, which guarantees people that they will lose weight as soon as they start to use it. The first time it is offered Laurel doe not take it since she is recovering from her seasickness so she offers it to her best friend Vivikia without knowing the risk she is putting her friend in. On the six day Laurel is one of the passengers who is lucky to not have turned out like Vivika and the rest of the passengers did. This is definitely a trip none of those passengers will ever forget.
Ending
I did not expect for the book to end the way it did. I was expecting a completely different ending. The last few pages had me upside down with what was going on. The ending kept me intrigued and wanting to read until the very last word. The ending makes the story able to be continued and in someway alive to what could happen next. I really liked how the writer did that because it keeps me wondering on what could happen next.

Setting
The setting of the book spends most of the time on the ship. The Ship is a bad place for this to happen. At the same time it is good because it will not affect the rest of the world. That being said there is a low chance of survival being on ship. It is like being stranded on sea. There is no cellphone service and no one can hear you scream. All of these challenges add up but will Laurel be able to handle the pressure?
Characters
Laurel Willard an awkward, freckled, and guitarist. This is the main character and i'm surprised that she survived through the novel. The three words to describe he did not make her seem like a brave women to be fighting against the people on the ship. The author's choice to pick a female as the main character was a good choice. Having to see the struggles, sacrifices, and things she did to survive was entertaining. Also picking a young adult it is easy to relate to the characters in this way. Tom Fiorelli the remoter on this event or nightmare is a very important character. Without Tom all of this would not have happened, i'm sure that this was not the plan. Although it was not his fault, reading this made me feel anger towards him.Tom and Laurel start to have a relationship that could potentially save them for this nightmare
Good Points
The author of the book, Emmy Laybourne write the book really well. One thing that i liked is that she wrote in Laurel’s point of view. I really like this because I could really get a sense of what was Laurel was going through at such hard times. She also wrote the book like how a teenager or a young adult would talk when it came to Laurel. Then when celebrities for important people would talk it sounded sophisticated. Again all of this is easier to relate to the main character. The theme of the book was the most unique part for me because she turned a good thing into a horrible thing. The book will surprise you. The writing style is not anything fancy it is normal which is fine for me.
Bad Points
Reading the book I thought that it was really predictable. There were times i was right and wrong. I'm glad that I was wrong in the ending because I got to enjoy it. Since there are books and movies similar to this the book struggled once and awhile getting my attention. Other than that it was an easy book to read.
Plot Summary
Emmy Laybourne Sweet sounds like what it should be. Laurel Willard and her friend go on a luxurious cruise filled with celebrities. Tom Fiorelli a old child celebrety wants to shed of of this old image. The occasion is to promote a new diet sweetener, Solu. Solu takes away up to five percent of your body fat. Laurel’s experience on the ship is anything but sweet. She is so seasick that she does not get the opportunity to try Solu. Everyone on the ship is loving this new sweetener, but will it be enough to last for everyone? Now things start to get dangerous because everyone in the ship is hooked and wants more. Laurel is now starting to regret going on the ship and has to fight for he life. Both of the characters thought that this was going to be a dream vacation. The vacation turns into a nightmare and has to fight for their lives.
Ending
Reading the book the ending was good and it fit the story. It was not satisfying but I was expecting it to end this way. That's the good thing i'm sure the ending will please most of its audiences. The author’s message to me was very clear people will do whatever they can to be skinny. Not just that but people need to be more comfortable in their own body's .
