Overview

August (Auggie) Pullman was born with a facial deformity that prevented him from going to a mainstream school—until now. He's about to start fifth grade at Beecher Prep, and if you've ever been the new kid, then you know how hard that can be. The thing is, Auggie's just an ordinary kid, with an extraordinary face. But can he convince his new classmates that he's just like them, despite appearances?

R. J. Palacio has written a spare, warm, uplifting story that will have readers laughing one minute and wiping away tears the next. With wonderfully realistic family interactions (flawed, but loving), lively school scenes, and short chapters, Wonder is accessible to readers of all levels.

Setting
The setting is at Auggie's house and in his school Beecher Prep.
Characters
The main characters are Auggie which is the main character and he is the one with the face deformation. Via is auggies sister she likes to act in plays. Summer is auggies friend that sits by him on the first day. Jack Will is auggies best friend in school. Miranda is an ex best friend of Via's and she changed a lot during the book. The other two important characters are auggies mom and dad Isabel and Nate Pullman.
Good Points
I think a good point in this book was the end when Auggie got his award from the principal. Auggie was super scared to go to school then he ended up loving and got a good award at the end of the year. I think that the author made this a good ending to the book. I really liked this book because of the ending, the ending is super sweet.
Plot Summary
This book is about August Pullman who is a kid that is born with something that isn't normal. He has had 27 surgeries and he had always got weird looks and people saying mean things about him. His family has always protected him. He finally ended going up to school. He was super scared to go to school but he went anyway. He ended up loving it.
Ending
The ending was a very good ending. This ending in the book fit the book. If it was a bad ending then it wouldn't be a good book. Because the kid in the book doesn't have a very good life because of what he was born with. So the ending is super good.

Setting
the setting took place in August's school, Via's school, and home. There are also more smaller settings such as the Camp grounds, or at grans house.
Characters
The main cheracter was August Pullman. A 10 year old boy who has a facial deformaty and it makes it hard to make friends. He struggles with trusting his friends because he doesnt know which ones where put up to it by the principal or who just wants to be his friend.
Good Points
the main thing i like about this book is that it jumps between perspectives. when it changes it will go back time a little and then continue the story through the perspective of another character.
Plot Summary
A boy has a deformaty. He stuggles to make friends but by the end of the book the whole school loves him.
Ending
yes it was kind of expected because you know it wouldnt end sadly. its predicable but it still was an amazing finish.

Setting
The story mainly took place at Beecher Prep, which is a private school that Auggie went to.
Characters
August Pullman: A 10 year-old boy who faces a lot of conflicts with pretty much everyone. He was born with a facial deformity which kept him out of school until now.
Jack: August's friend, but at first he was told to be his friend. Now they truly are friends. His conflicts are with Julian the "popular" kid.
Olivia: Via is her nickname. She is August's sister. Her conflicts are people who make fun of August.
Summer: August's friend, but chooses to be his friend and stick by his side when Julian is bullying him. She faces the kids who make fun of her for being August friend.
Julian: Bullys August and his conflicts are everyone who choose to stick up for August.
Good Points
Some good things that the author did do well is he told the story as if it were true. He brought everything to life. I really like this book because you can feel the emotion of all the characters and you get to see their points on the situations.
Bad Points
One thing that I though that the author could have changed is the way he portrayed August sister. She always felt the need to keep him sheltered. I think that Via could have stepped back off of Auggie and let him be a boy and not try to be his parents.
Plot Summary
August Pullman is a 10 year old boy that has some facial deformities. He is about to go into fifth grade and his mom and dad are talking about putting him in a private school, Beecher Prep. Auggie has made some friends, but he also made some enemies. One event that happens is when Auggie goes to a school trip and they go camping in a way. He got made fun of up on that trip. Another event is when August over hears Jack talking bad about him. It really hurt Auggies feelings, but Jack only said the stuff he did because he wanted to seem cool.
Ending
The ending of the book was pretty satisfying. I think the ending fits the story and it shows how strong August has become. He faced so many challenges, but over came every single one of them. It also taught the readers some life lessons as well.

Setting
The story mainly takes place at Beecher Prep Middle School which is a private school that Auggie will attend for the fifth grade.
Characters
The main characters are
August Pullman: August is a 10 year old who was born with a face deformity. He's had 27 surgeries since he was born. He faces being a normal kid with a deformed face and people don't look at him normal.
Via: Via is her nickname her full name is Olivia. She is the older sister of August and goes to Faulkner High School where she met Justin who became her boyfriend.
Jack Will: Jack is requested to be one of Auggie's welcoming buddies he asked if he had to because he already knew how Auggie looked and he was scared of him.
Summer: Summer is a kind girl who chooses to be Auggie's friend. She sits with him at lunch and treats him like an actual person. Her father died and maybe that's what makes her see the good in others.
Julian: Julian doesn't really like Auggie. He asks Auggie questions like was he in a fire and says that Auggie looks like Dark Sidious. He also tells Jack to stop hanging out with Auggie.
Charlotte: Charlotte is one of Auggie's welcoming buddies.
Good Points
One good point that I liked was when August won the Henry Ward Beecher medal. This was my favorite point because he got a medal for being himself and it made him feel important and normal. What the author did well was getting people to change their views about August. Why I liked the book was because August didn't have to change anything for people to start liking him. They just had to get to know him and eventually they saw him for who he really was not who he looked like.
Bad Points
One bad point was we never got to hear Auggie's mom and dads point of view in the story. What I feel the author did poorly was the lack of involvement the two parents had in the story. The main character was their son but we never got to hear their thoughts on everything. All we know from them is that they were supportive and we only know that from the kids point of view. In general I liked the book there were just some parts that could have been better if we had more details.
Plot Summary
The very first event that happened was Auggie attending school. After not going to school his whole life he finally started in the fifth grade at Beecher Prep Middle School (Private School). Starting school was a big challenge for him because he didn't look like an ordinary kid. He was a deformed 10 year old who was about to face a lot of big challenges. Another event that took place was when Auggie won the Henry Ward Beecher award. He was surprised that he won this award because he hadn't done anything for it. Than come to find out he won the award for being himself.
Ending
I believe that the ending was satisfying because no matter how many challenges came his way he decided not to give up and face his fear. He did what he had to do and I think that he was also satisfied with the way things ended. The author definitely got people to view Auggie in a different way.

Setting
The setting of my book Wonder is in two diffrerent places. Auggie and his family lives in Manhattan in new York City. He goes to a school called Beecher prep which is a private school. Most of the story happens in Auggie's school. Auggie's school is within walking distance from home. Auggie does not have a good social life.
Characters
The main characters in this book Are:
August Pullman - He is a a ten-year-old kid who was born a facial deformity that, up until now, has prevented him from going to a mainstream school. Starting 5th grade at Beecher Prep, the only thing he wants is to be treated as an ordinary kid
Isabel Pullman - She is Auggie's mother. She is always taking care of Auggie and making sure he does get hurt. Isabel always want the best for his son.
Nate Pullman - He is Auggie's father. Nate and Auggie has a special relationship. He has always be overprotective with his son, but now he realizes that he needs to give Auggie space and let him grow up and mature.
Jack Will - he is a boy who reach out to Auggie because a teacher tol him and that at the end he became friends with him. There was a point when he talked bad about Auggie behind his back but at the end the two of them made up.
Good Points
The good points of this book is that you get to know, from Auggie's point of view, how he feel and what he is going trough and how he feels. Also, that you get to see how August took a stand and make his life better by stand up for himself and he also stop feeling sorry for himself . Also that you not only get to hear from August point of view but that you also hear from other character's point of view.
Plot Summary
August have been home schooled because of a health issue. August is starting 5th grade but this time he is going to a private school called Beecher preparatory. The only thing that Auggie wanted was to be able to go to school and be treated as a normal kid. When August go to school, just like he expected, every kid stared at him . At the beginning it was hard for Auggie he made some friends and then he got some troubles with them but as the story goes on he makes friends and his life gets better
Ending
The ending was satisfying because they teach you so many life lessons at the end. You get to see that if something in life seems scary you should try it and go for it because you never know what the outcome can be. Also, because the books shows you how people that are in the the circumstances as August feel which can help us to know those kids want to be treated and that we should treat as any other person.
