Overview

"I have no idea what is truth and what is fiction. I'm all I've got now. I can't trust anyone."

World War III has left the world ravaged by nuclear radiation. A lucky few escaped to the Alaskan wilderness. They've survived for the last thirty years by living off the land, being one with nature, and hiding from whoever else might still be out there.

At least, this is what Juneau has been told her entire life.

When Juneau returns from a hunting trip to discover that everyone in her clan has vanished, she sets off to find them. Leaving the boundaries of their land for the very first time, she learns something horrifying: There never was a war. Cities were never destroyed. The world is intact. Everything was a lie.

Now Juneau is adrift in a modern-day world she never knew existed. But while she's trying to find a way to rescue her friends and family, someone else is looking for her. Someone who knows the extraordinary truth about the secrets of her past.

Setting
The setting takes place in a small village in Alaska. World war III has destroyed mainly all human life. In the village lives Juneau with her clan, the only known survivors, as her mentor had said. She discovers most of the information being told was all a lie.
Characters
The main characters in this book are Juneau and Miles. Juneau is a teen who has been left all on her own, since other people took her clan, and ruined her village. She is also next to be leader of her clan and has a special power to connect with the Yara.
Miles is a rich teenage boy whose dad is a CEO and is looking for Juneau to get on his dads good side.
Good Points
Good Points are Juneau being taught how to survive on her own, after all she encounters, so they basically make her seem like a strong independent young woman. Also another good point is when Miles changes his perspective, he views his life and Juneau in different ways, but understands it.
Bad Points
The beginning of the story it was confusing , it doesn't tell you who Miles is then goes to back to Juneau not knowing anything about the other character until later on in the story.
Plot Summary
Juneau is out hunting with her dogs, since her mentor told her to go search for more food, she hears a noise she hasn't heard before and ends up going back to her clan, which are no longer there. She finds out most things they told her are a lie. Miles a rich boy from L.A. goes into Seattle to find someone his father, and his men are looking for, just to get on his fathers good side.
Ending
In the end it teaches you, you can't always be on your own, sometimes you need help, and need to change your ways. This story ends with Miles changing his mindset, and with a twist in the end.

After The End

Setting
World War III has destroyed the earth. In a small village in Alaska, Juneau lives with her clan, the only known survivors. Or so she has been told. She discovers this is not true.
Characters
Juneau has been told that her clan has survived for 30 years after the destruction of the earth. She is learning how to be a leader and has specials powers that allow her to connect with the Yara.
Miles is from the real world. His father is looking for Juneau and he wants to find her first.
Good Points
Juneau is a strong young woman. She has been taught to survive on her own. Also having a spiritual connection with the 'Yara', she is able to see and understand things that no one else can.
Miles is a spoiled little rich kid. He meets up with Juneau, wanting to turn her in to his father to get his approval. He finds out that there are things more important than himself.
Plot Summary
Juneau is out hunting with her dogs. She comes back to find her clan has been taken and the only clue she has is a message from her father that says, "Run."
Thing are not how she has been taught. There is a modern world out there. She has been betrayed by her mentor, her clan is missing and there are people out to get her. Miles wants to turn her in and thinks she is crazy when she tells her story. She shows him some of her powers, then he is convinced. Maybe his father is wrong.
Ending
Miles is finally on her side. But things go wrong. The end made me want more.

Setting
This novel has a few settings, but Alaska has the central focus of the story. It is a good setting, considering that it could create several more conflicts than a normal U.S. state. It’s after World War 3 has already wiped out almost everything. There are few people there now, let alone after they’ve been wiped out. There aren’t many resources there now, let alone after they have been wiped out. Juneau and Miles must survive and find the villagers. Their most important necessities: people and resources.
Characters
Juneau and Miles are the only two characters that actually appear and really contribute to this book. Juneau is the abandoned villager looking for her fellow villagers and Miles is a dropout student who has been destined by fate to help Juneau. They originally have nothing in common and dislike each other. She is a woman that has grown up in the wilderness and known how to survive all her life. He is a man that got kicked out of school for cheating on an exam. He thinks she is crazy and she thinks he is an idiot. They have major trust issues at first, but surely get over it, and make a romance develop.
Good Points
Something that the Author, Amy Plum, did spectacular was that she brought a philosophical and spiritual aspect to this story. Some may say that these things are, “impossible” but they make the story far more intriguing than most dystopias. The Yara gives significant meaning to the story and writing style that Plum uses. Overall, this is just a well written book.
Bad Points
Nothing really noticeable on the contrary, the author didn’t do anything for a reader to dislike too much.
Plot Summary
After the End by Amy Plum is a novel that is 30 years after World War 3 has destroyed almost all of mankind, it is 2014, and few survivors are left in Alaska. Juneau, a young woman, is a lone survivor after her village has abandoned her. She goes to the Yara, the village’s power source for Mother Nature, to find out what to do. The Yara tells her to go to Seattle where she finds a man that is from Los Angeles that is destined to help her find her fellow villagers. However, he is not her favorite person to have accompanying her on this trip.
Ending
This novel sends a message that beliefs are really important and should be strongly held high as a priority for oneself. It makes me feel hopeful and that I have the capability to have a big impact on the world one day if I put my heart behind it. Amy Plum definitely meant to portray this message to her readers and it worked for me. This is a book that I hope to see many, many sequels for.

Setting
At first, Juneau was in Alaska with many friends after a massive war that basically destroyed the world, or so she was told. Soon after, the setting jumps to another character in Los Angeles in the year 2014. This jump makes for a very confusing first few chapters, and at first, I almost gave up on the book. Soon, however, these two different settings with completely different characters overlap in Seattle, and all the pieces begin to come together.
Characters
There are really two main characters in this book. Juneau is a young lady running for her life after her village in Alaska is destroyed. The other main character is Miles, the son of a rich CEO who is sent out to find and capture Juneau. When they meet in Seattle, each person thinks that the other is crazy. They have serious trust issues, but because they need each other, they are forced to work together. As they embark in their journey, they begin to trust each other more and more, and find out that their skills complement each other very well. During their travels, these two characters grow and develop, which makes the book much more enjoyable to read.
Good Points
There were many highlights in this book. The characters were definitely a high point to keep the reader engaged in the novel. Another definite good point in the writing was the mystery and action that makes readers continue to turn pages. With each question answered, new ones were revealed.
Bad Points
There were not many bad points in the writing of this book. One of the complaints I have, however, is the language. The f word was used in some places where it was not at all necessary. Other than that, there were no other real low points in After the End.
Plot Summary
After the End by Amy Plum is a suspense book set in the future, 30 years after World War III. A few survivors escape the radiation-filled land by moving to the Alaskan wilderness. One day, after going on a hunting trip, Juneau returns to her clan and finds that everyone is gone, and all that was left was a note from her father that said, “Juneau, run!” She does not know where to run, or who she is running from, but she follows this advice. Soon after she begins running, she finds that everything that she was told about history was not true. The cities were never destroyed, and there never was a World War III. She went from surviving happily with her clan members to running from an unknown foe in a matter of hours, and she now is questioning everything she was ever taught in her life.
Ending
The conclusion to this novel was satisfying, and it was a good resolution to the novel. The author shows readers that you need to trust others and that if you have someone who truly wants to help you, you can accomplish many tasks that you could not do alone. It also shows how just because two people come from different lifestyles, it doesn’t mean that they can’t get along.

Setting
In after the end by Amy Plum is a very adventures action book. Kate is a sixteen year old girl that just lost her parents in a car accident. She is very devastated and sad about this incident. Kate and her sister Georgia is taken by their grandparents to Paris to live with them. Georgia goes out and party’s to get rid of her sadness while Kate stays home and reads her sadness away. After seeing that Kate is not changing, her grandparents push her to go out and explore Paris and to get some fresh air. Time spent out makes Kate feel better and she starts to explore.
Characters
In a near death experience that happens during her adventures, she meets her new neighborhood and starts meeting them. She comes across a man she sees more than friendship and soon she finds out the Vincent is not a human but rather a revenant, a sort of zombie. She finds out that he died a long time ago and then three days later resurrected as a revenant. She also finds out that there are more people like Vincent and there are good one and bad ones. Kate discovers from Vincent that the bad ones are called Numa. The Numa’s are headed by Lucien. Soon Vincent’s friend Charles is captured by Lucien and Vincent’s friends goes away.
Good Points
A lot of good points about after the end is that every chapter in the end it just made me want to keep reading because it would end in a dramatic mysterious way. Plum would use good and proper grammar. The characters are very interesting. I like how it talks about world war II because I like to read about history and how Plum would talk about the history events makes this book so much better.
Bad Points
Plum did not have any bad points in my opinion. In after the end is one of the best books I have read. This book is defiantly in my top three books.
Plot Summary
Juneau returns from a hunting trip to discover that everyione in her clan was vanished she sets off to find them. Leaving the boundaries something horrifying: there never was a war. Cities were never destroyed. The world is intact. Everything was a lie. Kate she moved with her grandparents to Paris and she was getting to know more and new people but when she catches an eye on Vincent then she feels like she met the man of her life.
Ending
In the ending Vincent kills Kate in paris because he needed her soul so he could keep living. He has been dead for over a decade and nothing will stop him from staying on earth as a spirit he says. Juneau keeps hunting and still tries to find survivors from the war destruction
